Update: November 13, 2024

It's been over three years now since we shut down the "business" side of things during the pandemic, and since then I've been in a state of semi-retirement from this line of work - though as you all are aware, I have still taking a few odd side jobs here and there from my clients to keep their systems running. However, as all good things must, it's time for this also to come to an end now as I approach the end of my fortieth year. As such, I've made the hard decision to complete my full retirement from the "hustle culture" of working multiple jobs by the end of this year. I want to assure you all that your pending service requests already in with me will be completed, although we will no longer be accepting new work requests as of this point forward. I hope to wrap up all of these final service requests within the next couple of weeks. It's been a pleasure working with all of my valued clients and helping all of you out over the past 20 years or ...

Update: May 26, 2021

It's hard to believe that I wrote our first pandemic update almost fifteen months ago with the expectation that this change in operations would last only a few months. Here we are, over a year later... how naive I was back then! Now that there's finally what seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, I suppose it's time to reassess and look to the future, and to speak to you all candidly and honestly about the course we're going to take as we go forward. When the pandemic first started to become a major feature in all our lives, we shifted our business model dramatically. We went from a primarily housecall-based service to a service that operated on drop-off/pick-up and free remote servicing only. It was a big adjustment, for both myself and my valued clients - but it's been a successful shift overall. At the same time, I also stopped treating this business like... well... a business. Rather than focusing on income and profitability, this business was treated mor...

Update: September 29, 2020

Sigh. Well, since this country seems incapable of getting its head out of its own arse for long enough to actually stop the spread of Covid-19, and we've now become accustomed to living with a pandemic with no end in sight rather than doing anything proactive about it, I guess it's time to formally update this statement. Everything below still remains true, however I'm officially declaring the moratorium on housecall services extended through at least the end of the year (December 31, 2020), and likely through at least the first quarter of next year (through March 31, 2021). We'll reassess if anything should change, of course, and we will continue performing necessary services for our clients via DROP-OFF at our location in Keene and REMOTE SERVICE only until such a time as we can confidently restore housecall services. This model has worked well for 99% of our clients over the last six months, and I hope it will continue to work for the months ahead. I do, of course, a...

Update: March 19, 2020

What a difference a few days make. As things have progressed over the last week or so, we've seen first hand the tremendous impact the coronavirus is having on this nation, and within our own community. From shifting to remote workforces to furloughs and layoffs, and panic-buying at the stores, it seems like everyone is affected in some way by Covid-19. In times of trouble, like these, the most important thing we can do for ourselves is to watch out for the people around us and our communities, because if we're going to get through this, we're going to have to all do it together. To that end, we'd like to make it a little easier for folks who may have been negatively impacted to take advantage of our services, though the moratorium on housecalls/on-site services remains in effect for the foreseeable future. We know that people are facing a lot of challenges, especially financial hardships, as a result of the pandemic - so we've got a few things we can do, in the na...

Update: March 16, 2020

To our loyal clients, It's certainly an interesting time to be a small business owner or independent contractor right now! All of us are facing unique and unprecedented challenges, and trying to make the best of a bad situation while also trying to be part of the solution rather than exacerbating the problem. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I have made the difficult decision to cancel all on-site services for at least the next few weeks for the safety of my clients. As many of you know, my day job is working as an IT Director for an international tour operator. Because I work in the travel industry and because I service mostly a higher-risk group clientele in my side business as a PC Technician, it seems like the best thing to do given the nature of what we're dealing with right now, and knowing that I'm at a higher risk to become a carrier due to my frequent workplace interactions with International travelers. It pains me to do this, but I simply cannot contro...
